Ability Cycling is a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making cycling accessible and inclusive for people of all ages and abilities. We operate two flagship programs: Charlotte’s Tandems US, which lends tandems and trailer-cycles to people with disabilities free of charge, and Cycling Without Age Howard County, which offers seniors, veterans, and those with limited mobility the chance to enjoy safe, volunteer-piloted trishaw rides. Through these programs, we create opportunities for freedom, joy, and connection—bringing families, generations, and communities together on wheels.

Charlotte’s Tandems US operates in Maryland, Virginia, DC, Troy MI, Chicago IL, Atlanta GA, and MT Shasta CA with local volunteers making tandems available for free loan.

Cycling Without Age is offered nationally (and internationally) by a number of different charities.. Our program operates in Howard County Maryland.
