Email AbilityCycling@gmail.com to request a loan. We ask you to fill out a form (see below) and match you to a “Helper Location” near you with an available bike, or tell you where you are on the waiting list. Loans are normally for one or two months, and can be renewed if no one is one the waiting list. You have to go to the helper location to pickup the tandem, so see our Helper Location list to see if there is one you near you. We will advise you on how to transport the tandem.
You will fill out an additional waiver when you pick the bicycle up, which will require signatures of both rides. In most cases, we need both riders present when we give you instructions on the bike and to ensure you are able to ride it. Please contact us for advice if both cannot be present at pick up.
When you pick up your tandem, you will be asked to complete a waiver with the Charlotte’s Tandems US Helper. This will include participating in safety checks before riding and on bike instruction. Both riders are expected to be there–contact us ahead of time if this is not possible. The Waiver form is attached for reference–we will fill it out together
